When God called me out of my profession to homeschool our kids, I thought, no way!! Who does that? God is faithful and is pleased by our obedience. It is in the small things that you realize you are making a difference one step at a time.
You can't really protect your child from the world, but you can prepare your child, led by the Holy Spirit. The world is filled with evil and demonic forces trying to lure kids away.
John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
As a reading assignment, my daughter had to read an Afican version of Jack and the beanstalk. I heard God speaking to me. We started in prayer and I asked God to bring this revelation home to them. We are like Jack living in this life of destruction and spiritual proverty due to the enemy stealing from us and believing his lies. Out of desperation and not knowing our Heavenly Father, we go trade with the enemy for magic beans! These beans represent lies and wrong thinking, and as we ponder on it, we feed it and it grows into a strong beanstalk with a strongman guarding it. The result is living in bondage and fear, not wanting us to receive the gifts Abba Father has for us.
But then... Holy Spirit enters, we become brave and we climb that beanstalk, face that giant and take what is rightfully ours, because of what Jesus Christ did on the cross for us. Equipped by God we cut down the beanstalk, destroy it root and all and the giant by applying the blood of Jesus, so that we can walk in His image!
